Introducing the Inaugural Geneva Heights Polar Plunge Challenge!

The Polar Plunge Challenge is a “cool” event where participants take a cold-water plunge – pool, ice bucket, kiddy pool, water hose – anytime from February 1 - 15 to support Geneva Heights teachers! Nominate your friends, family for $25, then challenge them to take the icy dip and post their plunge on social media. Kids are welcome to join in on the fun too. It's a cool way to support our teachers while having an arctic-blast! Every plunge raises funds for teacher stipends at Geneva Heights so our teachers don't have to spend their own money on classroom supplies. Take a "quick dip" in February and show you're not "too cool for school!" Bonus – you get a tax write-off just for taking a leisurely dip!

Submit Your Nomination Today: Send us your nomination and/or donation with payment via the Geneva Heights website here. See below if you've got "cold feet" and need to pay a penalty fine.

Here's how the challenge works:

Nominations: Nominate a minimum of ONE person for $25, but don't stop there—nominate as many as you'd like! While our beloved Geneva Heights teachers are “off limits,” you CAN nominate Principal Verver to take the plunge by adding to the “Principal Plunge Pot.” Fill out the nomination form with your payment, and include the nominee’s name/contact information, including their email. We’ll send them the “special invite” but to ensure we don’t go to their spam, we’re asking you to reach out to your nominee directly. Tag them or call them out in your plunge video, send them an email or text - it’s up to you but help us tell them that you have challenged them to take the plunge. Then, they should record their plunge as “proof” and use this link to upload their video directly so we have ice-cold "proof." Also, encourage them to post it on the Geneva Heights Facebook Insider Page or their social channels, tagging #GenevaHeightsPTA and #GHPolarPlunge2026 to keep the icy fun going!"

Special Nominations: Want to see Principal Verver take the plunge? Donate toward his plunge pot! Principal Verver has bravely agreed to take the plunge AT SCHOOL in a baby pool outside, with Geneva Heights students dumping buckets of ice-cold water on him—one bucket for every $250 raised! It’s the modern version of a dunk tank!

**Sorry, Geneva Heights teachers are off limits—we're raising money for them and they deserve the warmth after all they do for our kids!

You’ve Been Challenged, Now What? Plunge in your own pool, a friend's pool, fill up a kiddie pool, jump in a lake, use a bucket of ice water or get doused with water from a hose. Your choice!

Proof of Plunge: Record and upload your video here. Also, post to your social media accounts. Don’t forget to also share them on our Geneva Heights Insider Facebook page or tag us in your post and use hashtags #GHPolarPlunge2025 #GenevaHeightsPTA. No social media? Email your video to sponsorships@genevaheightspta.org and we'll post it for you or upload it directly using the online form.

Penalty: Got cold feet? Pay $50 instead of taking the plunge by selecting the "penalty box" donation option on our website. PS, just because you’re not brave enough to take the plunge doesn’t mean you can’t challenge someone else – keep the fun going and donate an additional $25 to nominate your next Cougar pal! Or donate directly to the Principal Plunge Pot - every $250 raised fills up one bucket of ice cold water that a Cougar gets to dump on Principal Verver.

Remember, it’s for the kids AND the amazing Geneva Heights teachers! Happy Plunging!
