Fall is officially here, Cougars, and October is packed with school spirit, family fun, and a few spooky surprises! 🍂👻 Before everyone enjoys a well-deserved Fall Break from October 8–12, be sure to mark your calendars for all the fun happening this month at Geneva Heights.

We’ll jump back into the action with Curriculum Night on October 14, followed by the Woodrow Wilson Homecoming Festival on October 15. This month, we’re also kicking off our PTA Membership Pizza Party Challenge and getting ready for one of our favorite fall traditions—the Trick-or-Treat Trail! We need your help with candy and prize donations to make it an extra sweet (and spooky!) night for our Cougars. 🍬🎃

Calling all Kindergarten families—October is your month to help keep our amazing teachers fueled! Families with last names A–M will stock the teacher workroom during the first two weeks of the month, followed by families with last names N–Z for the final two weeks. 🍎

And save room for one more October treat! 🌮 Join us for a Dine to Donate at El Come Taco on October 28—an easy and delicious way to support GHE while enjoying dinner with family and friends.

Thanks to this incredible community, we raised a school record of over $41,000 for North Texas Giving Day! Every dollar goes straight back to our students and teachers — from field trips and teacher resources to in-school clubs and the school garden, and so much more.

Geneva Heights families, it’s time to rally your class and help your child’s class WIN a PIZZA PARTY! 

The class with the highest percentage of PTA membership will win a pizza party—and every membership counts! Students, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends - everyone can join in and help your class climb to the top!

Step 2. Email a copy of your receipt with your student’s name, grade and teacher to Marisol Feavel at vpmembership@genevaheightspta.org so your membership can be counted! 

Already a member? Thank you! Follow Step 2 above to make sure your membership is counted!

*** IMPORTANT FOR FAMILIES SUBMITTING MULTIPLE MEMBERSHIPS ***
If you are submitting PTA memberships for multiple family members AND multiple students, please make sure you include ALL of the following in your email:
 Every membership receipt
 Each student’s full name
 Each student’s grade
 Each student’s teacher

We need all of this information to make sure every membership is correctly counted toward your class’s final membership percentage! Please don’t send just the receipts—include the student information, too or your membership will not count.

HURRY— you only have until 5pm 10/14 to get those emails in!

Our Cougar community is at its best when our families get involved, and we have several opportunities where we could really use some extra hands! Right now, we especially need volunteers to help with lunchroom duty, as well as our upcoming Book Fair and Grandfriends events. Whether you can give 30 minutes, an hour, or more, your time makes a BIG difference for our students, teachers, and staff!

Remember, all campus volunteers must be registered and cleared through VOLY before volunteering. Once you’re approved, be sure to check VOLY regularly throughout the school year—new volunteer opportunities are added as needs and events come up.
