September is here, and there’s so much happening around Geneva Heights! We’re kicking things off with a busy week—the Book Fair is happening now, Grandfriends Day is September 10, and there are plenty of opportunities to connect, volunteer, support our school, and show your Cougar spirit all month long.

We’re also sharing September’s Awareness Month dress-up days, a full week of college spirit for Higher Education Week (September 14–18), and a reminder that it’s 4th Grade’s turn to stock the teacher workroom with snacks. 🍎

It’s time for North Texas Giving Day, and our Cougar community is coming together to support the programs, experiences, and resources that make GHE such a special place! Every donation helps fund everything from field trips and clubs to our garden, teacher resources, and more. Plus, for every $1,000 raised, one lucky Cougar Scholar gets to throw a pie at Principal Verver! 🥧 Help us reach our $30,000 goal and make an even bigger impact for our students and teachers this year!

Our Cougar community is at its best when our families get involved, and we have several opportunities where we could really use some extra hands! Right now, we especially need volunteers to help with lunchroom duty, as well as our upcoming Book Fair and Grandfriends events. Whether you can give 30 minutes, an hour, or more, your time makes a BIG difference for our students, teachers, and staff!

Remember, all campus volunteers must be registered and cleared through VOLY before volunteering. Once you’re approved, be sure to check VOLY regularly throughout the school year—new volunteer opportunities are added as needs and events come up.

Get ready to show your Cougar pride under the Friday night lights! Join us on Friday, September 11 for the Woodrow Wilson High School Feeder Pattern Football Game and a special night for our GHE students!

Before the varsity team takes the field, our GHE Cougars will join students from across the Woodrow feeder pattern on the field and run across together to help kick off the game. And the fun doesn’t stop there—GHE students will also perform alongside the cheerleaders during halftime! 📣

Come out, wear your GHE gear, cheer on our WWHS Wildcats, and celebrate being part of the Woodrow community. We can’t wait to see our Cougars shine under the lights! 🏈🐾
